The Catherine Cook School is an independent, not-for-profit school in Chicago, Illinois with over 480 students in grades preschool through eighth. Known as the Melrose School until September 1992, the school changed its name to The Catherine Cook School when it moved to its current location at 226 West Schiller in the Old Town neighborhood, in honor of Catherine Cook Anagnost, the late mother of the building's former owner.

The Catherine Cook School is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, with tax-exempt status in the State of Illinois. It is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), the Independent School Association of the Central States (ISACS, by which it is also accredited), the Illinois Coalition of Non-Public Schools, and the Lake Michigan Association of Independent Schools (LMAIS).

Students in the school use tablet computers in addition to regular school supplies. Dr. Michael Roberts is Head of School.
